The good part about owning Mercedes vans is that they are very reliable. I mean really reliable and sometimes it can seem like they will go on forever with only the oil changed every five thousand miles and a good clean every now and again. Because they were designed for extreme commercial use those of us that use them in a more sedate way they certainly can seem to go on forever.

But there will come a day that they will breakdown. Sad but true. Find a ‘vans wanted‘ sign in the local paper or on the internet and track down a local, quality, van breakers yard. They will have scrapped old Mercedes vans which you can cannibalise for your van. the cost of this type of repair is always less than new parts and you also get to use actual Mercedes parts rather than copy parts. It is without doubt the best solution and one which I advocate to anyone that is in need of repairing their own van.
